Free Wett Inspection

Free WETT Certificate Included with Inspection

WETT inspection fee is $50.00 per appliance or fireplace . Most insurance companies now require a WETT inspection prior to issuing policy. A WETT inspection involves checking the appliance for certification by a registered agency such as ULC or Warnock Hersey and ensuring all clearance requirements are met. If unit is not certified requirements are more stringent. Chimneys also have to be inspected which requires that they be visible. One common problem often found in older buildings is the fireplace hearth usually projects only 12 inches. Today's requirement is 16 inches of non-combustible projection from the front of fireplace. We providel WETT inspection services to Southern Ontario and Simcoe County.

Benefits

Septic Tank and System Basics

A sewage drain field and a septic tank make up a small scale sewage treatment system. A septic tank is basically a rectangular shaped underground receptacle for wastewater. It is watertight, made of concrete, and consists of tanks that are divided into chambers. The first chamber has twice the volume as the second and the [...]

Soldering Plumbing Basics

Soldering copper pipes is a basic plumbing skill that once mastered will enable you to tackle many home repair and home improvement projects – for instance, replacing copper water lines or installing a new spigot. It can be as much an art as it is a science, thus the more you get the “feel for [...]

Smoke Detectors Save Lifes

Working smoke alarms save lives. Don’t be foolish enough to think a barking dog will awaken you or that you will smell smoke – don’t bet your life on it! SMOKE KILLS: Toxic smoke and fumes kill. In a house fire, it is the flames that do the structural damage, but smoke is the primary danger to [...]

Vinyl Siding – Clean and Shine

A low maintenance and durable material, vinyl siding is an increasingly popular home exterior and has replaced aluminum siding on 90% of home cladding. Even though it is a low maintenance material, you will still want to clean your vinyl siding from time to time.

Aluminum Wiring – Hazards and Solutions

Primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, many electrical contractors used aluminum wiring instead of copper wiring as a way to save money and lower construction costs. However, a number of electrical fires have been attributed to aluminum wiring. Many building codes have been rewritten to not allow the use of aluminum wire for branch circuit wiring in houses.
